St. Juvenaly’s Mission has been blessed with many overseas visitors. We are happy to recommend the following places to stay, where you can be hosted by some members of our church.
In additional to these options, our choir director John Burns and his wife Caryl have offered the use of their lovely Ohana for those who wish to stay in the Kona area. (Many Hawaiian homes have a separate living unit, like an “in-law” unit, called an “Ohana”, which means family.)
Their Ohana is spacious and comfortable, with a separate entry and garden view. It consists of a large bedroom-sitting room (fully furnished with king-sized bed, table and chairs, TV, cable, internet access) a large bathroom with shower, and a full kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with all major appliances and can be stocked with food prior to your arrival, for your convenience. We request that there be no smoking in the Ohana. The home is about a 10-minute drive from all of Kona’s restaurants and shops. If you are interested in the use of their Ohana, please contact Caryl at 808-333-5048 (home) or 808-938-8165 (cell) to inquire about availability. Please be aware of the time difference, and don’t call too early in the morning!
Please consider making a donation of $75/night to help defray costs. Discounts are available for longer stays.
